四季折々の美しい自然に神々が宿る信仰の場
しゅげんどうあまのいわと天岩戸伝説で知られ、近年パワースポットとして注目を集める戸隠神社は、平安時代末は修験道の道場として都まで知られた霊場だった。神仏習合のころは高野山、比叡山と共に「三千坊三山」といわれるほど栄えた。戸隠そばは「ぼっち盛り」という盛り方が特徴で日本三大そばにもあげられるほど有名。新そばの季節には全国から多くの人が訪れる。
Well-know from the ancient legend of Ama-no-iwato densetsu and recently attracting more and more enthusiastic visitors due to the booming trend of "Power spot" mysterious site tours, Togakushi Shinto shrine used to be a very famous sacred place. In the end of Heian period, even people in the ancient capital of Kyoto knew this place as a famous training ground for Buddhist priests. It prospered, as popular as Koya-san and Hi-ei-zan, called one of the top three "San-zen-bou-san-zan" holy sites during a period of the mixture of Shintoism and Buddhism. Togakushi soba noodle is among Japan's best, with its unique "Botchi-mori" way of topping a bamboo woven plate with noodle split into several portions in an easy-to-eat size. Tens of thousands of people visit Togakushi every year in the new soba season.
